Please go and check out this blog, a young woman is enduring probably the worst time she will have in her entire life. She lost her parents in a car accident as a teenager, her brother in a motorcycle accident, and last month lost her husband, her 7 year old son and her 4 month old baby in a car accident, and now she has lost the baby she was carrying. Cathy has put out a plea for help, she would love to make a comfort blanket for Jenn. She needs 64 squares, 8inches square, made in 8ply washable pure soft wool. She is asking for comforting colours. Any excess squares will be made in blankets and given to charity.
Please help, I know alot of us are busy with Soaring Eagles, but please take the time to make just 1 square for Jenn. We could only imagine the pain and sorry she is going through now.

I will definately knit one or two squares. How extremely sad for her.
Oh F*&@ck. If it's true what this girl has been through (and I don't really believe it, you know I'm a bitch) - some bright spark has thought of the perfect thing to make her feel better, a handknitted blanket. Kinda like putting a bandaid on melanoma don't you think?
Charity knitting for the cold and poor is great. Charity knitting as sympathy for an unknown (and possibly ficticious) stranger - not my cup of tea at all.
I respect your right to decide to support this, of course, it comes from what I know you to have in buckets - geniune concern for fellow man.
wow
Good comment Ailsa, you know, sometimes I wish I didn't have that concern for others, I would get heaps more knitting done for myself. I have been thinking before I read your comment that I should pull out of this, I am enjoying knitting for Soaring Eagles and they are much more needy at the moment, sorrow is one thing, being bloody cold in winter is another, and I do have Christmas knitting for MY family to get done before THIS christmas.
